Since the late 70’s when the 928 was introduced, many have called it the “German Corvette.” In almost every way, it outperformed Corvettes for 20 years since its inception. Unfortunately, the power under the hood was one thing that did not live up to the nickname. So why not install a Chevy V-8 and give it the boost in power and reliability it’s been begging for?

I can tell you with confidence, the all-aluminum LS V-8 engine installation using the Renegade Hybrids conversion kit, is actually quite easy…and the results are fantastic. Plus, it's much lighter and smaller than the stock 928 engine which improves the handling, and it makes maintenance a breeze. With the extra-added room in the engine bay of the 928, several LS-series motors and their accessory packages will fit, including the Corvette LS-7. Even carbureted versions of the LS based motors are an option if cost and simplicity are paramount.

On the subject of engines, any new or used LS series GM V-8 will do wonderfully. Some minor modifications may be necessary, but you are welcome to call us for more specifics. If you are looking for our highest recommendation for a donor engine, we use new GM Performance Crate Engines. BELLHOUSING ASSEMBLY GM based bellhousing, custom adapter plate, hydraulic throwout bearing, and hardware, pre-assembled.  
TORQUE TUBE ADAPTER Adapts Porsche torque tube to custom bell housing assembly.  
MOTOR MOUNTS Welded steel mounts that bolt to the 928 crossmember to accept stock Camaro LS Series rubber isolators.

SPEC STAGE 2+ CLUTCH DISC & PRESSURE PLATE (picture) *Features a multi-friction disc in a full faced configuration with carbon semi-metallic on one side and kevlar on the other. Bridging the gap between stage 2 and stage 3, the 2+ offers drivability and engagement quality characteristic of the stage 2, but with a 15-20% higher torque capacity. SPEC STAGE 4 CLUTCH DISC & PRESSURE PLATE (picture) *This unit is a solid hub version of the stage 3. The hub is solid 8- rivet and the assembly is heat treated for strength and durability. It’s available in a 3, 4, or 6 puck configuration. Use the 3 puck for the lightest option or the 6 puck for the smoothest engagement. The 4 puck is a good compromise for both. Street drivable in 6 puck configuration, but not street friendly due to the rigid hub. Best for drag, road racing, pulling, rally and drift. (832 ft lbs torque capacity) $479
